ALEXA XT, ALEXA Mini and AMIRA cameras and new SkyPanel lights
SYDNEY, 23 June 2015 – This year’s SMPTE sees ARRI represented on several stands at the exhibition with ALEXA cameras, AMIRA cameras and the very first SkyPanel lights in Australia.
The Canon stand will feature the versatile documentary-style AMIRA camera that combines exceptional image quality and affordable CFast 2.0 workflows with an ergonomic design optimized for single-operator use and extended shoulder-mounted operation. There will also be a ready to pick up and shoot straight out of the camera bag AMIRA on the Miller stand. The AMIRA is hardy enough to take anywhere and features in-camera grading with preloaded 3D LUTs, as well as 200 fps slow motion. It is suitable for a great variety of production types, from reportage and corporate films to TV drama and low-budget movies.
Across the hall on the Lemac stand there will be a fully operational ALEXA XT (Xtended Technology) camera, the ALEXA that adds a number of significant and unique features to the ALEXA family including a Super 35 sensor with Open Gate and 4:3 sensor modes, in-camera ARRIRAW up to 120 fps, ProRes 4444 XQ, ProRes 3.2K, internal ND filter, Lens Data System, integrated CDL capture, ARRIRAW checksum, included anamorphic de-squeeze and high speed licenses and super silent fan.
Also part of the ALEXA range and demonstrated by Ignite Digi on the John Barry Sales stand will be an ALEXA Mini the compact, lightweight and self-contained camera that is a versatile additional tool in the ALEXA camera range. The ALEXA Mini perfectly complements any ALEXA shooting kit, eliminating the complications of working with third-party cameras for specialised shots and keeping everything within a single system that is trusted all over the world.
Finally for ARRI and in a first for Australia on the Barbizon stand will be the first two SkyPanel LED fixtures. SkyPanel is a compact, ultra-bright and high-quality LED soft light that sets a new standard for the industry. With a design focused on form, colour, beam field and output, SkyPanel represents the culmination of more than a decade of research and development of LED technology at ARRI. The SkyPanel is available in two sizes: the S60 and S30. The S60 is a mid-range model, featuring a light aperture of 645 x 300 mm and accommodating the vast majority of applications. The S30 is a smaller, more portable version; half the length of the S60, it is perfect for on-the-go mobile applications. Both models are available in fully colour tuneable and remote phosphor versions.
